Porcelain Fixed Bridges

Porcelain Fixed Bridges

A dental bridge does exactly what the word implies: it bridges across an empty space created as a result of missing or extracted teeth.  Healthy adjacent teeth are used as supporting pillars for the missing gap.  The bridges are permanently cemented on the healthy adjacent teeth and functions as a replacement for natural teeth without using dentures or dental implants.

Without a corrective procedure such as a bridge, the teeth adjacent to the gap will tend to tilt toward each other, altering the alignment of the upper and lower teeth and reducing the efficiency of the bite.  Failure to treat missing teeth can also lead to food getting packed into the gap, which causes both decay and gum disease.

A fixed bridge looks like your natural teeth and is stationary (unlike non-fixed bridges, it need not be taken out at night).  Fixed bridges are typically completed in two visits.
